Simone Ren is a pianist and painter based in Vancouver, Canada.
As a pianist, Simone finds the most joy in programming intimate salon-style concerts with her friends where they can share their favourite repertoire: a mix of local contemporary composers and lesser-known works from history. Her beloved teachers include Rosemary O’Connor and Dr. Corey Hamm. Simone came to painting in her early 20s as a means to spend more time absorbing the things she loves and so, finds subjects in her friends and surroundings. She works as a freelancer and spends her free time running and reading across a wide variety of genres.
Simone made her orchestral debut with the Coquitlam Youth Orchestra performing Saint-Saens Concerto N. 2 in G Minor as first prize winner of the Yarilo Piano Scholarship Competition. Most recently, she won “best performance of a baroque work” at the Oakridge International Piano Competition. An active composer, she has received commissions from the Charlotte New Music Festival (USA), HighScore Music Festival (Italy) as well as completed the composition program at EAMA Nadia Boulanger Institute in Paris. In 2025, Simone received a piano fellowship from the Mostly Modern Festival in New York and was a participant in the summer program at Domaine Forget.
Simone has held 2 solo art exhibitions at Commercial Street Cafe and Gallery. Her works have also been shown at Slice of Life Art Gallery, Seymour Art Gallery and commissioned by Adi Magazine (to be published in early 2026).
